I’m a nontraditional law school applicant—and the first in my family to take this path—preparing to apply for the 2027 law school cycle. After graduating from Georgia State University in May 2024, I made the intentional decision to take a gap year to strengthen my application and gain clarity on my goals.
This blog is where I document that journey in real time. From LSAT prep and personal statement writing to navigating the admissions process as a first-generation law school applicant, I’m sharing both the wins and the challenges along the way. My goal is to build a competitive application that earns me a spot in law school and sets me on the path toward a career in corporate law.
If you’re also a nontraditional or first-generation applicant—or just curious about what it really takes to get into law school—I hope this space gives you insight, motivation, and a transparent look at the process as I work toward making this goal a reality.
